Route 1: (preferred)

Parked on the A4212 at the start of the footpath at Nant Ddu. Followed track up to Ceunant Coch then on to the summit. Well worth considering Moel Llyfnant GW/NW-018 first by same path before heading to Arenig Fawr via Ceunant Coch.

Fence running below summit. Shelter (enclosure) at the summit.

Continue North over summit until fence forks. Drop down (West) to Amnodd-wen, picking up the forestry track to Amnodd-bwll and continue back to Nant Ddu.

Route 2:

From Trawsfynydd on the A4212 heading for Bala. At crossroads where the B4391 joins, take a left signposted Arenig.

After a couple hundred yards there is waste ground opposite the quarry where one can park.

Follow path up towards Craig y Hyrddod and then onto Arenig summit.

Enclosure at summit with plaque commemorating American pilots who died when their flying fortress aircraft crashed on Arenig Fawr in 1943.
